School Accountability Committee (SAC)

Your Voice in Our School Community

Larkspur Elementary's School Accountability Committee, or SAC, brings together parents, staff and community members to provide input and help support the continued improvement of our school.

SAC provides families and community members with a meaningful way to learn about school priorities, share perspectives and participate in conversations about Larkspur's programs, plans and goals.

What Does SAC Do?

School Accountability Committees are established under Colorado law and serve an important advisory role in public schools.

Larkspur's SAC provides input and makes recommendations in areas such as:

  • School improvement priorities and planning
  • Academic performance and student growth
  • School budget priorities
  • Family engagement
  • School programs and initiatives
  • Other topics affecting the Larkspur school community

SAC is an advisory committee. Its role is to provide feedback and recommendations to school leadership while creating opportunities for families and community members to participate in conversations about the school.

Get Involved

Parents and community members are encouraged to participate in SAC. You do not need to be an education expert to contribute. Your experiences, questions and perspectives are valuable to our school community.

SAC meetings are also an opportunity to learn more about what is happening at Larkspur, hear about school priorities and provide feedback directly to school leadership.

Have a Topic for SAC?

We welcome ideas and feedback from our community. If there is a topic you would like SAC to discuss at an upcoming meeting, please contact:

District Accountability Committee

Each school SAC is connected to the broader accountability process within Douglas County School District.

The District Accountability Committee (DAC) advises the Douglas County School District Board of Education on district-level priorities and provides another connection between schools, families, district leadership and the Board of Education.

DAC considers topics such as district budget priorities, improvement planning, charter school applications and family engagement. Information and feedback can also move between school SACs and DAC, helping connect conversations happening at individual schools with work happening across the district.
