Orchestra Classes

Beginning Orchestra

Beginning Orchestra is available to all 4th -  6th Grade students in the Castle View feeder area.   In this class, students will learn how to assemble, care for, and begin to play an instrument.  No previous instruction is required.  In orchestra, students can learn to play violin, viola, cello or string bass.


Intermediate Orchestra

Intermediate Orchestra is available to all 4th, 5th & 6th Grade students in the Castle View feeder area.   In this class, students will build on their fundamental skills and learn to play more complex music in a variety of styles.  Previous experience, such as a completed year of beginning orchestra, is required.


Class Options

Classes are offered for each school, but students are welcome to attend any option that best fits their schedules.


Option 1 - Orchestra at Clear Sky

Beginning Orchestra: Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:20 - 9:00 a.m.

Intermediate Orchestra: Wednesdays & Fridays, 7:40 - 9:00 a.m.

 Instructor: Ms. Owsley

Class starts Aug. 28.

Option 2 - Orchestra at Larkspur

Beginning Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Intermediate Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Instructor: Ms. Rafferty

Class starts Aug. 29.

Option 3 - Orchestra at Meadow View

Beginning Orchestra: Mondays & Wednesdays, 7:45 - 8:20 a.m.

Intermediate Orchestra: Mondays & Wednesdays, 7:10 - 8:20 a.m.

Instructor: Ms. Rafferty

Class starts Aug. 28.



Option 4 - Orchestra at Sedalia 

Beginning Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:20 - 9:00 a.m.

Intermediate Orchestra: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:40 - 9:00 a.m.

Instructor: Ms. Owsley

Class starts Aug. 29.



Option 5 - Orchestra at Soaring Hawk

Beginning Orchestra: Tuesdays & Fridays, 7:50 - 8:30 a.m.

Intermediate Orchestra: Tuesdays & Fridays, 7:10 - 8:30 a.m.
