Mrs. Dietz
Gifted and Talented Teacher and Academic Interventionist

I am passionate about Education and would consider myself a lifelong learner.  For those of  you who I haven't met, a little introduction. My name is JoAnna Dietz.  I am a native Californian, but moved to Colorado to be closer to family and all of the beautiful scenery. I have been part of the Larkspur Elementary Community and Douglas County School District for 15 years now and adore teaching.

I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. In my career, I have enjoyed participating in and leading various student enrichment programs such as Student Council, the LKE Lego Robotics Team, Green Team, Camp Invention, Code.org, bringing students to Ameritowne, International Towne, and Outdoor Ed, facilitating the LKE Spelling Bee.

In addition, I have served our school on the LKE Building Leadership Team, have been awarded Digital Educator designation in our district, have taught many Professional Development courses and am a member of many Educational Organizations. I have volunteered for over 25 years as a youth leader, and have worked with children in several different capacities. This is my 18th wonderful year teaching.

I live in Castle Rock and I am married to my handsome and compassionate husband, Timothy, and have two strong teenagers, Caleb, age 17, and Madison Zoey, age 15 who both attend Castle View High School.

I enjoy spending time outdoors and hiking the stunning peaks which surround Colorado, with my husband, and spending time with my children. Other hobbies I enjoy include cooking, gardening, singing, cutting hair, traveling, volunteering at church, and of course learning!

We enjoy a diverse array of learning in my classes. I enjoy getting to know each student and what makes him/her tick. It is my great joy to find what each child is passionate about, and help them discover how to unlock the door of learning for themselves.
